Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the May Session of Traffic Education! My name is Tony Swartz, and I will be your child's Traffic Ed instructor. I will be teaching an in-person session at Great Falls High. We will be having a required student and parent meeting on Wednesday, May 8th, at 5 PM in the Great Falls High Library. Please use the Hub Entrance. We will have a little more room to spread out and be more comfortable. I require at least one parent/guardian and the student to attend. There is some required paperwork that must be filled out before we start class, and I would like to make sure that everyone understands how the process works, my schedule, and the requirements of participating in my class. If you or your child fails to attend this important meeting, I will not waive your child at the end of the driving session.
Please bring the following items with you to this meeting:
1) Your child’s certified Birth Certificate, Passport, a MT ID card, or Military ID AND
2) Your child’s Social Security Card
3) A black pen to fill out the form
Important Information:
I look forward to meeting everyone!

Important Information:
- Class starts Monday, May 13th, at Great Falls High School, in south campus room SC 106, at 3:30 PM and ends June 21st (Tentative).
- On the first day of class, bring a notebook, something to write with, and your glasses or contacts. All students must be able to pass a basic eye test in order to drive the car.
- All coursework must be finished on June 17th . NO EXCEPTIONS.
- The TELL TEST (LEARNER'S LICENSE) will be at 3:30 PM on May 28th. There will be only one retake opportunity. It will happen at 3:30 PM on May 30th. If a student does not earn a score of 82%, after two attempts, they will have to schedule an appointment at the DMV to take the written test. (There is also an extra fee to pay to take the test at the DMV and scheduling is very difficult right now...you may not get it before you finish the course!)
- Please make sure you have paid your fee as soon as possible or your spot will be given to another student. There are many students on the waiting list!
- The meeting will count toward your child’s required classroom hours for Driver’s Ed. At this meeting, we will go over classroom requirements, expectations, class and driving schedule, GDL, and licensing. We will also fill out the Application for a Driver’s License (MT State Form).
- COMMUNICATION IS VITAL TO THE SUCCESS OF THE STUDENT DRIVERS! PLEASE STAY INFORMED AND USE MY WEBSITE(https://swartzdriversed.weebly.com) AND REMIND. REMIND WILL BE MY PRIMARY TOOL FOR COMMUNICATION! ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP. (Parents/Guardians please sign up as well!)
- We will go over the schedule at the parent meeting. Please make sure that your child can meet the necessary time commitments. Plan on committing around 8 weeks of time and be prepared to drive after school, any time from 7 AM-7 PM on Saturdays, and on school holidays during this session.
- Driver's Ed is a priority....if you play sports, or are planning a vacation, make plans to do this after Driver's Ed. There are several kids on the waiting list who will be happy to take your place and make the commitment!
- If the schedule does not work for your family, please be aware that there are no refunds after the first day.
I look forward to meeting everyone!
